The HDTV Advocate promotes the wide-spread adoption of High-Definition Television. We want high growth rates and marketplace competition for the video standard that was designed to present visual and sound quality at the limits of our perceptions.

The HDTV Advocate is against the posturing being published from the major companies in both the Computer and Broadcast industries. Both industries are threatening to commit very large amounts of capital to support the short term goal of digital delivery of the same low resolution we currently 'enjoy'. This will delay even further the promise of HDTV defined in the ATSC Digital Television Standard.

This site shows why we should apply our purchase power to products that support or are capable of supporting HDTV. The quality of video products will quickly migrate away from the 40 year old NTSC standard as we stop buying devices that deliver low quality video.
